My argument is that Linux machines interpet # as a start of a comment.
For example: git merge origin #branchname will output that it has no valid name.
Needed action: git merge origin "#branchname"

Its much easier to change the naming convention than to locally change all Linux developers device settings, also all the descriptions of commands will be without the needed action. Since the group leaders established the naming conventions they will be assigned to this issue since it is relevant.
