To run the project it needs some special hardware, what hardware that is I don't know. It needs to be added to its Wiki page.

  • What is the minimal requirements?
  • What is the recommended specs?
  • Operating specifics?

If @c24elipe or @b24johka aren't assigned to this, you can ask them. They have some knowledge about the specs the server has, if it helps as a starting ground.

Server uses:
cpu: Intel xeon processor (skylake, ibrs, no tsx), 1 core
storage: 20 GB
ram: 2 GB
os: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS

Recommended Minimum for web development:
CPU: 2 cores
RAM: 8GB
Storage: SSD 256GB
OS: Windows, macOS, or Linux

Recommended Recommend for web development:
CPU: 4 cores
RAM: 16GB Ram
Storage: SSD 512GB
OS: Windows, macOS, or Linux

For web development, more storage is needed to contain all files. If just hosting/running, around 20-50 GB is recommended.
A multi-core processor is preferred for handling multiple tasks and applications simultaneously.
Recommendations are taking from multiple sources on google with similar projects, is not necessarily based on this project.

Unsure what this wiki is targeting, it is supposed to be about the system requirements but is referencing the hardware of the server?
Wouldn't it make more sense to establish the system requirements and then compare them to server hardware?
Also, what is the information source? if this is just a general guideline for common applications i don't feel like they represent our system. Maybe we should make actual benchmarks?

What should be done?

In regards to the above points, lets take a step back and understand what/why we need this information.
Also, the ram of the server is 2GB. (This can be added to wherever the information is important)

Since the server is not very hightech, it can serve to see what the minimum for hosting the project is.

The general recommendation is taken from different online forums where they have developed similar projects, for example:

But will do more research in finding what is currently needed to develop/run the project.

In regards to the wiki page referencing the hardware of the server, my suggestion is that we break it out to the wiki 8. Server and deployment with a new page about the server hardware.

Since the server hardware doesnt meet the minimal requirements in any field that we have set, maybe we should create another page on Server benchmarks?

Sounds good! Could be good to add a note that it unsure how many can use the server at the same time as well, and that the end goal is unknown at current time.

Also wondering if it wouldnt be more suitable to address the amount of free diskspace required for our system? instead of something like 512gb SDD (Wouldnt run if all the diskspace is used)

Would properly be more suitable, yes.
