Current look of "empty card" where you can select what view you want:

Right now a drop down is used to select card. What do you think? Would it look better with just like a "+" icon that give you a pop up with views to select from?

Current look of a new card modal where the views appear when the different categories are pressed. Could be improved using different icons to make it clearer that the categories are collapsible, as well as icons to better demonstrate the difference between views.

Henrik liked the modal solution if it could be made with more stuff in it. He suggested adding a preview of the View, title and description (much you already have). But at least we can say that we should focus on the modal solution and not the empty card one.
