We want a new settings icon.

If possible, please design a few different versions so that we can have the customer choose.

Worth noting in this issue is that we have a hamburger menu on the way, the initial plan was to have this instead of the cogwheel. I know we have discussed only having the hamburger menu on phone resolution, what do we think here? We could have icons in the hamburger menu as well ofc.

I assume any cog wheel that is in line with the general theme (line thickness / coloring etc) of the other icons is a good choice.

I like the last one but am unsure if it fits the theme.

Before closing this issue, we need a final decision from the team lead/customer on which settings icon version should be used.

Several good alternatives were provided, but one design should be selected before the issue is closed.

The customer suggest that we should use material designs icons. @b25marem can you find the official material designs icon.

I checked the official Material Design icons and found a few good candidates such as:

  • settings
  • tune
  • settings_applications

We can test them in the toolbar and hamburger menu to see which one fits the UI best.

Just to clarify, do you mean that we should only test different official Material Design icons in the UI, or should we also create custom design/mockup variations for the customer to choose from, as mentioned in the issue description?

To get a uniform look we should only use the official meterial desicn icons if possible.
