Just listing all the courses that the university has?
Is there a feature that will use this data?
@b24johka wrote in #951 (comment):
Yes, for now we only want to list what courses or programs we have
if we use an api, then it will be its own feature. like we have api from backend and a card from frontend.
but you don't need to think about this now. First step is to find an api :)
@a24sakma wrote in #951 (comment):
sure, my research suggests that there are no available API's that the school is offering for us directly. However, i dont think it would be a big challenge to webscrape the information from the HIS website and display it in our application. (If its legal)
Thats also why i am wondering what the feature itself will consist of and need in its functionality, wouldnt it make more sense to start with the feature issue and what declare what we want to achieve? rather than seeing if one route to solve the problem is possible before starting with the feature issue?
@b24johka wrote in #951 (comment):
Nice, I can ask the customer if it is ok to webscrape his.se
about the feature specifically. This is also a question to the customer like what is it they want to be shown on the portal.
I will gather these question to customer and get back to you.
So since this issue is primarily about research if the university provides an API's for fetching courses, this is issue will be considered finished.
Based on research the university doesn't have an API for this matter.
